Essential Beach Outfits

Welcome back to part two of my beach essentials post! Today we are going to look at some of my favorite and most comfortable clothing items for the beach. Let’s jump right in!

This little outfit is PERFECT for a beach trip. I already see myself riding my bike to the ice cream shop in this outfit. It would also look super cute paired with a small brim straw hat like this one! It is super comfy and not see through! This was an awesome Amazon find!

The beach can be so hot and sticky so, I like to wear loose fitting clothing. This polka dot skirt is adorable. It is really comfortable and fits perfectly. The brand (Relipop) also sent me a few free bracelets when I made the purchase. 10/10 will be repurchasing from this brand. Who knew Amazon had such great clothing?!

I am obsessed with this tank from Relipop. It is a lightweight material and it has adjustable straps. It comes in navy as well. I paired it with an old pair of high waisted shorts similar to these. I wanted to pair these with shorts to minimize the items I packed. I am bringing several tops to go with these shorts. One of my favorite packing tips is to bring items you can mix and match to maximize your outfit possibilities!

Meet Bane. He wants to be in all of my pictures, so I figured he deserved a feature. One of a kind. Stubborn. Not for sale! Moving on to the dress. This Forever 21 dress is a staple item of mine. It is so casual and comfortable. You can use it as a beach cover up or with some cute sandals for a dinner outfit. Again, loose fitting and flowy clothing items are a must for me at the beach!

I love this button down! The metallic stripes add a little pop. I paired them with the same denim shorts, but I also have a white mini skirt I can pair it with as well. I have had those sunglasses forever and I am obsessed. Here is a similar pair that is still avaliable for purchase.

Introducing my all time favorite swimsuit. It is a one piece, but the front cut out makes not so grandma if you will. I always wear a hat to the beach to protect my face from the sun. Here is a similar hat. (The hat in the picture has tassels, but after seeing the one I linked that has pom poms…. I may need to purchase that. HA!)

I will also be bringing my animal print swim suits from a previous blog post.

I am so excited to be hanging out at the beach with my family! After I get home from vacation I will have a more regular posting schedule. You can still expect another post next week, so stay tuned!!

Beach Essentials

Packing for the beach is such a hassle. Well, it is for me at least. I’m always worried I am going to forget something I need or not pack the correct outfits. This year I sat down a few days before and wrote a list of the things that are absolutely essential! Don’t worry, I am going to provide a link for each item.

I’m going to start with what I call my “diva bag”. Does anyone else have one of these, or is it just me? I carry this bag with me everywhere, especially if I am traveling.

First off, how cute is this bag? It is a perfect size and super durable. I seriously carry this with me everyday. Next, let’s check out the contents.

A wet brush is a must. Especially for the beach. It works wonders on my crazy hair. Next, is hand sanitizer and lotion. I don’t believe Bath and Body Works carries these scents anymore. Honestly, any small sanitizer and lotion does the trick. Deodorant is a must. Living in Florida… well its just HOT! All the time. I really like this scent because it smells fresh. Now, one of my favorite products is this lip balm from Grove Collaborative. If you haven’t heard of Grove you are missing out. The Evian Facial Spray is a literal life saver. Its good for cooling off, reviving your makeup, or even just refreshing after being on a gross plane ride. I think everyone needs this mist in their life… like yesterday. The next item is the Coola Mineral Body Sunscreen. Seriously, this sunscreen is the best. I use it when I go out and about. It doesn’t have a fragrance or feel sticky on your skin. You can’t tell its there. I like to use a spray on the beach (which we will talk about later), but for running errands or eating lunch outside this stuff is the bomb. Moving on to my Victoria’s Secret Rollerball. I cannot find this on their website any longer, but I did find it here on amazon. Its really compact and great for throwing in your bag. It smells AMAZING as well! Last, but certainly not least, my favorite essential oil blend. This roller ball is wonderful. Not only do I use it before I sleep, I keep it in my bag for stressful situations. It is so calming. I’ve used it in airports, traffic, or anytime I feel anxious.

Now, here are a few extra things I am going to be tossing in my suitcase for the beach

This sunscreen mist is awesome for the beach. It doesn’t make sand stick to you AND because of the handle, you can spray your own back. I know. It’s amazing. I am also packing this small handheld fan. The light colored handle at the top is for misting yourself. It is small, but I tested it out and it really works. I can’t wait to use this on the beach!

My next beach must haves are these two items from Rodan + Fields. The Reverse Sunscreen is my lifeline. I have incredibly sensitive skin and most sunscreens make my face feel like it is on fire. Literally. This sunscreen is so gentle on my skin, but super effective. The Soothe Moisture Replenishing Cream is great for dry sensitive skin. So, it’s my go to at the beach. My last item is the Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Primer. What a name. This stuff is the greatest. It helps detangle my hair, keep it hydrated, and it is a heat/uv protectant. What more could you want?

This post was a little lengthy, but I don’t think I could survive the beach without all these items(dramatic I know). If you try any of the products out, let me know how you like them in the comments below!

Stay tuned for my next post “Essential Beach Outfits”.

Cheetah Obsessed

Has anyone else noticed that animal print is coming back? Every time I pull up my feed I see Dalmatian print, snake skin print, and cheetah print. I’m not complaining, but I have always been a little nervous to wear these prints. So, I went on a mission to find the best animal print items at Target. Let me show you what I found.

This pleated cheetah A Line skirt is EVERYTHING. I’m in size x-small. This playful piece can add a little sass into anyone’s wardrobe. It is super light weight and comfortable. I paired it with these black faux leather sandals. They are also available in brown. These sandals are very comfortable. I wore them out on the town and my feet didn’t hurt at all. They conveniently add a little height for us short gals!!

This babydoll dress is so perfect for summer. It feels like t-shirt material and is loose fitting. I love how casual this dress is, but the print makes it such a statement. I paired it with the same black sandals above.

The leopard booties everyone needs. Perfect with dresses in the summer. Perfect with jeans in the winter. They are my new favorite year round booties. I am in size 7 1/2. They are true to size. I paired these boots with a dress I bought second hand from ThredUP. The dress is by the brand LAmade. However, I could not find it up for sale anymore. Here is a similar dress from a different brand.

I found my beach swimsuits for this year. Same swimsuits. Different patterns. I love how the bottoms are high waisted, but the hip is high cut. These are a little cheeky, but nothing too crazy. I have never been so impressed with how flattering a swimsuit is. I am a size small in the bottom and a medium in the top. Get the cheetah print top here and the bottoms here. However, I cannot find the snakeskin print online. I searched the barcode as well. I’m assuming it is in-store only.

Overall, I am incredibly satisfied with my Target haul. All of these pieces put a little pep in my step and gave me some added confidence. If you are nervous to try animal print, don’t be!! It’s sassy, flirty, and fun. You will be so surprised at how fearless these bold prints make you feel!
